Read Research through design as a method for interaction design research in HCI.
To be honest, I don't know how to react because I am new to both design and HCI in academics and cannot judge if the content is really true or not from my experience.
So I will just write some concerns about the paper.
- It is written in 2007. Is this idea still a main stream in interaction design research in HCI area?
- Not sure if this idea is really prevalent in design/HCI area.
- Is the number of samples for this research enough? Especially, they did interviewed only 6 interaction designers.
- The content seems sometimes subjective but not all people have the same view points.
Since this paper is given as a class assignment, most likely this paper is important. But I need some time to digest this idea through my experience.
